History: The original ring was made of gold, bezel set with a heart shaped red spinel in four claws and inscribed in relief around the outside of the band in the period French spelling of the time. English poesy jewelry is often engraved in French, as it was the language of the English Court and Nobility until well into the 1400’s. This reproduction features a heart-shaped garnet in place of the original spinel. Genuine, Museum Authorized Reproduction hand-cast by the lost-wax method in the US.
