History:
Inscribed with the phrase, “Good Luck,” in
Gaelic script, this necklace is as beautiful as it is historical. The Gaelic
script in its current form is one of the oldest scripts in continuous use,
dating to before the 4th century BC, and its roots are found in scripts a
thousand years older still. The number four is related to the cross and its
associations with Christianity. This in turn relates to the traditional
symbol of Ireland, the three leafed Shamrock, which is not only a symbol of
pride for the Irish, but refers to the triple leaf motifs of Gothic Art
which themselves make reference to the Holy Trinity. 4 Leaf Clovers are
rarely occurring in nature, thus carrying with them an aura of mystery and
even today, are commonly thought to bring good fortune.
