Song of Songs, Chapter 2, verse 16, the most passionate declaration of
love in the Bible. This 15th century phrase is engraved in black letter
face around the outside of the Band. The chapter begins: 1 I am the rose
of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys. And closes: 17 Until the day break
and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a
