History:
This Gaelic Ring which is inscribed
with the words, "Pulse of my Heart," in the same archaic Gaelic script
as the original, was made in Dublin in the early 17th century. Though recorded
by scholars, the original poesy ring has been lost, or is in an un-catalogued
private collection. Gaelic inscriptions are relatively rare since most poesy
rings were engraved in old English, French or Latin. As the detail of the
original ring is not known, the inscription has been placed on a simple modern
ring shape. The poesy itself has remained throughout the ages as a tribute to
the passion of the Celtic people.
