History:Henry David Thoreau - Born in 1817 in Concord
Massachusetts and graduated from Harvard College in 1837. He began building his
hut at Walden Pond on Ralph Emerson's land. Walden was published in August 1854.
As a nature writer, Thoreau has few if any peers. Reprinted in 1862 the year of
his death. Walden has been continuously in print from 1854 to the present day.
As long as people are interested in nature, it will continue to have an
audience.
