History:
These immortal words originate in the Book of
Common Prayer devised in the 16th century, though the hand which wrote them is
not surely known. The Book that codified the liturgy of the English church
including the ceremony of marriage was revised by Thomas Cranmer and
others in 1549. Though its final text was not agreed to until 1662, it
remains one of today’s masterpieces of literature. The simplicity of the
words unifies the undertaking of marital vows and the symbolism of the
ring, representing an everlasting union. The ancient words are contrasted
with a broad, bold ring of timeless simplicity and elegant design. Genuine, Museum Authorized Reproduction
hand-cast by the lost-wax method in the US.
