Each piece in our poesy jewelry line, is hand-cast, using the centuries-old, lost wax method. The lost wax process begins with a carved wax mold of your posey ring, pendant, cuff, bangle or key ring. The mold is packed with clay and fired at a very high temperature. During the firing process, the wax evaporates leaving a cavity inside the clay. Your choice of Sterling Silver, Gold or Platinum is poured into the mold. The piece is cooled and the clay removed leaving a raw unfinished piece. The unfinished piece is oxidized to produce the darkened lettering and design and buffed to desired shine.
