Sold separately or in pairs?: The Poesy Rings are sold separately. Price is for one ring. The bandwidths and design dimensions are the same regardless of size. Our poesy rings can be worn by both men and women.

Variations: Because our poesy jewelry is hand-cast, slight variation in thickness, darkness and depth is common. In most cases, the rings are about 1.2mm thick.

Ring and Finger Size: Ring Size Guide and UK Conversion Chart Please keep in mind that you must make adjustments for the band-width on the wider banded rings. The wider the band, the larger the size you will need for a comfortable fit. In addition, it is wise to consider the time of year you are making your purchase. In winter, your ring should feel a bit loose, so when the warmer, summer months come, it fits "just right".

Modifications: Our fine quality Poesy Rings are museum authorized reproductions, made from original artifact counterparts in museums and private collections throughout the world. When archaeologists find artifacts, they send them to Museums, making the museum, the item's sponsor. The Museum then sells the rights, or the license, to manufacturers who wish to reproduce the artifact. The revenue generated from licensing is used to pay the Museum staff salaries, upkeep/preservation of the artifact and safety. Licenses also function to provide restrictions on how the the item can be reproduced. Variations like size, finish (shiny or matte), or style (silver, gold, or platinum) are acceptable. However, we are not allowed to change the inscription size, band-width, style text, modify the design, solder on settings, place the phrase on another band or in another location.

Suggested Care: Sterling silver will naturally tarnish or dull as it reacts with the air or skin. This can easily be remedied by using a mixture of baking soda, table salt and water paste, followed by a standard polishing cloth. Avoid exposing your Poesy Jewelry to Bleach, Chlorine, Hydrogen Peroxide, or other harsh chemicals. We do not recommend using jewelry cleaners. Baking Soda, Mild dishwashing liquids, mild hand soaps and mild shampoos are suitable for removing surface dirt and restoring original shine. For those who are chemically sensitive, we also offer a chemical-free polishing cloth.

Ring Re-finishing: If you purchased your ring from us, we'll polish it for you, for FREE. We'll do the work, you pay for the shipping. Simply use our online exchange form to submit your request.

What is the antique finish: The antique finish is an oxidation process which results in the darkened lettering and design. The antique finish is not something which is physically added to the surface of the ring, like enamel; it is a treatment of the metal itself. Platinum cannot be 'antiqued'.

Enamel: The sterling silver rings are not available with enamel and platinum simply cannot be enameled.

Engraving: We do not offer engraving services.

Lost Wax Method - Jewelry Casting

Sterling Silver: Sterling silver, by US standards, must consist of 925/1000 parts pure silver, or it cannot legally be labeled .925. In comparison, German law dictates that German sterling silver need only contain 900/1000 parts pure silver. The remaining 75 or 100 parts typically consists of nickel and copper, in ratios that vary, depending on the manufacturer.

Hypo-allergenic jewelry: typically contains germanium or palladium and is usually more expensive as a result. Our jewelry does not contain palladium or titanium and we do not recommend them.

Nickel & Copper: Our sterling silver poesy jewelry contains nickel and copper. Customers who are sensitive can still purchase our poesy rings, but may need to have their ring treated with iodine.

Stainless steel jewelry: usually contains higher levels of nickel and copper, iron and other base metals. Unlike sterling silver gold and platinum, stainless steel jewelry is not federally regulated, so the actual contents are anyone's guess. As a result of the iron content, stainless steel jewelry tends to develop rust, requiring buffing, to restore it's original shine. In addition, if your ring must be cut off to save your finger, stainless steel cannot be easily cut. Titanium cannot be cut, at all. We have had customers who reported losing a finger when their titanium or stainless steel ring could not be cut off.
